2008 Super Yawn (Updated---the Not Bad Bowl)
This game is so boring, I thought I'd youtube it in the second half. Here are a few good ones:
This is why you should always schedule an Ole Miss road game in your fall plans (hotty toddy indeed):
And I really wish Big Al was more like the Duck. This clip is AWESOME:
So anyway, the game's not over yet. I had four beers before the game, and I should have had a million more just to get me through without wanting to slit my wrists. I can handle low-scoring games, but nobody is really doing shit out there. Hand the ball to the Bradshaw kid, pull a wide receiver reverse pass, SOMEthing. Other than the Pro Bowl, this is the last game of the year and quite possibly the most boring. I'm going to assume the 4th quarter they'll come alive. More after the game.
***UPDATE***Okay, the 4th quarter was actually some good ass football. I was CERTAIN that Eli Manning was going to phuck it up, but he went to his go-to guy and boom goes the dynamite. I started thinking the Giants might pull this one off once I saw the camera pan to Bruschi and Seau hugging each other and saying "time to finish" or whatever the hell cocky rich athletes say. It just reminded me of old soccer games when nobody gave you a chance, and the opposition just thought their shit didn't stink, and lo and behold, my teammates and I whooped up on them and then went home with their mothers. That's basically what the Giants did, ending the Patriots' dream season and giving them that all-important stain on their shirt---kinda like that commercial, which made me giggle like a school girl.
Okay, that's enough football for me. Guess I better brush up on my fantasy baseball skills; after all, I'm going for the four-peat. Any readers want in? I know PGrizzle does...
Damn, what a game. Tyree should be MVP.
I could have given a shit about this game since I had no rooting interests so I'm happy I was blessed (Thanks Jesus) with a great game.
I am glad to see the Pats lose because of the fucking Tuck Rule bullshit that took place years ago. And yes it still pisses me off and it will piss me off until the day I die. If only it were a CB other than Woodson, a faster CB, the Tuck Rule would never have occurred. And Tony Siragusa also pisses me off because his fat fat fat ass took Gannon out of a playoff game the year before. Back to my original point, I'm glad to see the Pats lose. Watch ESPN turn on Brady now since he's a loser. And for some reason I am pleased to see Moss and Seau lose. Oh yeah, and fuck Larry Izzo.
However, with the Gigantes win we now have to endure more '72 Dolphins bullshit. And people think Bama fans live in the past...
Raiders in '08. Wow, that's what I have to look forward to.

Oh, and as for fantasy baseball, BRING IT Rusty Knutz. I'm standing at the plate, arm out-stretched pointing at the CF bleachers, and dragging a bunt on your deep-playing infield. That's how I roll. Chone Figgins is my co-pilot.

Ohhhh no you didn't. I'm sorry if a 4.36 40 wasn't fast enough for you. Maybe Champ's 4.34 40 would have been better. I doubt either of them can run those times nowadays. And believe me, I got those times cemented in my brain from a reputable site back in the day, so debating with me is useless.
Besides, if you keep up the Woody jokes and I'll sick Tina on your ass. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, I'd cease with the jokes.
Anywho, he's on the verge of moving to safety and out of the league altogether. Let me enjoy the guy while I can. Maybe by then TJ Bryant (of Crimson Tide fame) will be in the league for me to follow. Hey, a boy can dream...

Minor error: it's Rusty Kuntz instead of Rusty Knutz. My apologies to the family of the Rusty Knutz's out there.

Ahhh Woodson. Dude was a stud at Oakland but then he got the 'tude. Regardless, he was money on the corner blitzes back in the day. The corner blitz that resulted in the Tuck Rule was even more amazing because he ran through a shitload of snow to get there just as Brady was "tucking the ball away." Motherfuckers.
I am typing 10 feet away (don't ask, don't tell; but yes I am a loser) from where I watched the Tuck Rule take place. I remember it as if it were yesterday. My mom was walking up the stairs in the midst of the ruling. As soon as she reaches the top of the stairs they blurt out the Tuck Rule bullshit. The # of expletives I threw out there in the minute after the Tuck Rule was impressive. It was even more impressive given my mom is a Southern Baptist and hates cuss words. So I did what any good son would do in this situation: bring my mom over to watch the play and say "Are you fucking kidding me? What the fuck is the Tuck Rule?"
Joker, I'm surprised you haven't pimped Deshea more. He's about 70 and still starting on a solid Pitt D. Who's the last great Bama DB you saw? Fernando?
Posted by: PGrizzle | February 03, 2008 at 08:07 PM
Hated Fernando. Got toasted a'plenty just like he does currently in Motown. I enjoyed Deshea's personality and enthusiasm at the Capstone, but I never really pimped him as one of my one. The last great DB at Bama was Kevin Jackson. All American safety, something we've been missing for so long up until Rashad Johnson stepped up this year. KJ tied Teague for the school record of 3 picks in a single game, and he was always that "guy" back there you never had to worry about. As for Johnson, he might just be plain nasty next year under another season under Saban. He showed me all assets of what it takes to be a great safety, and now add senior leadership to that? Peace of mind is nice.

Thank GOD it's 2000-and-Saban: Green, Lawrence, Barron (D or O?), Scott (D or O?)), Lester, and Bryant (?). Joker, would I be correct in saying the last time we had an all-around great DB corps was in the '90s? Not saying we have one yet, but if the guys we sign this year pan out, they should be a nasty crew in 2 years, especially with the "veteran" Jackson leading the corps. Combine a perceived nasty DB corps with a good D-line? Ohh ho ho!
As of today (sans Bryant) what DB is the most legit, Joker?

Other than Kareem Jackson, I assume you mean? Well, I'm actually nervous that Alonzo Lawrence showed his best skills at the right time and might settle down into just a "good" corner. Everyone says Burton Scott would be a natural fit at corner, but with so much talent coming in, I don't know if Nick wants him on D. From what I saw on TV, Lester is no joke. But again, I don't like judging from one or two games on TV and/or highlight reels. I want to see how they react in certain situations, if they have a short memory, etc., on the college level and right in front of my eyes.
Let's not forget Dre Kirkpatrick, class of 09. Dude can be sick.
